Operational Efficiency in the Transport Sector Improvement: The Strategic Impact of Financial Accounting
Abstract
This study aimed to assess the strategic impact of financial accounting in enhancing operational efficiency in Tanzania’s transport sector. The study focused on four major areas: cost control and management, financial reporting and transparency, budgeting and forecasting, and revenue management and fraud prevention. The study employed a quantitative method. A simple regression analysis was used to test the statistical significance of the relationships. A sample of 100 respondents was involved in this study. The results indicate that revenue management and fraud prevention have a significant impact on enhancing operational efficiency in the transportation sector. This study highlights the significance of financial accounting in enhancing operational efficiency in the transport sector, indicating that effective financial accounting can significantly reduce operational costs, thereby improving operational efficiency. The study recommends that policymakers are required to consider fraud prevention in setting their policies to improve the decision-making process to enhance operational efficiency.
